Long time no hear. It’s been a very busy month with lots of travel. I can’t complain. We’ve been enjoying ourselves immensely.
Here’s a card I made a few weeks back using watercolor markers on a cling stamp.
SUPPLIES Stamps: Gentle Whisper (PB 40-331) Dies: You Enjoy! (PB 51-339) Color: Distress Ink Markers (Ranger) Other: Clear Sequins; MISTI Stamp Positioner
I just used my MISTI to help me color this stamp. I first colored this beautiful orchid Gentle Whisper (40-331) and then the stem and leaves. Once I was happy with coloring, I set my card panel aside to let it dry. I die cut the Enjoy from the You Enjoy (51-339) die set multiple dies and adhered them all together. Once the panel was dry, I added my die cut and then added sequins to finish the card.
Check out the Simplicity Sister blog to check out another of my cards. Here’s a sneak peek…
June is coming to an end REALLY fast! Hope your summer is off to a good start!
I’m sharing a CAS card today. I love the Penny Black flower die Bashful (51-008) and wanted to use it as a focal point.
SUPPLIES Stamps: Special Wishes (PB 30-229) Dies: Bashful (PB 51-008), Stitched Rectangles (SSS) Color: Distress Ink (Ranger); Black Onyx Versafine (Tsukineko) Other: Clear EP (Ranger)
For this card, I die cut a rectangle from Bristol paper. I die cut Bashful from the rectangle and set aside the negative cut aside. I colored the flower with Distress Inks using a ink applicator. I adhered the negative cut on another rectangle of the same measurement. I adhered and placed the flower back into the negative space . The rectangle was then mounted on my card base. The sentiment from Special Wishes (30-229) was stamped and then heat embossed.
I’ve entered this card in this Wednesday’s SSS challenge: Use More Than One Punch or Die.
Until next time!
I’ve been admiring stamps from The Ton and I wanted to play around with a few that I borrowed from my dear friend Vera. Here’s what I made…
Love these roses from the Fresh Cut Garden Roses set! I simply smooched water downed Distress Ink to these images. I purposely left them unfinished to keep it interesting.
For the rest of the card, I added texture to the panel using one of my favorite Papertrey Ink impression plates, Linen & Canvas. In addition, I splattered white and black watercolor ink on the panel. I cut a circle in the panel and added a sentiment courtesy of Penny Black to the card base.
Hope you all are enjoying the day.
It’s Day 1 of Kathy Racoosin’s Daily Marker Coloring Challenge. I’ve never participated and I thought I will attempt to do it this time around. I’ve had a little more time and thought, why not?!
Here’s a little tag I created (decided to also participated with the Wednesday SSS challenge as well) where I stamped a few sketchy roses from Altenew with a simple Hello sentiment from Hero Arts.
I stamped and embossed the roses as well as my sentiment. The roses and leaves were colored with Derwent Inktense Watercolor Pencils with a watercolor pen. The tag die is Avery Elle.
Until next time!
I’m on the blog today with a simple hello card.
Here’s a sneak peek.

See you soon!
I’m slowly (very slowly) checking off my Christmas to-do list. Here is another Christmas card to share.
SUPPLIES Stamps: Bells & Boughs (PTI); Silver Bells (WPlus9); Woodland Wreaths (WPlus9); Believe (Penny Black: 30-310) Dies: Bells & Boughs (PTI) Color: Various Green Inks (Hero Arts); Versafine Black Onyx (Tsukineko); Clean Color Watercolor Markers (Kuretake) Other: Clear EP (Ranger); Queens Gold EP (Ranger)
I used a variety of stamps to create my leaf border. They were stamps with various hues of dye ink. I added a few red berries to add a change of color. The bells and ribbon were stamped and embossed with gold powder. I colored them with watercolor makers. The sentiment is from Penny Black.
Until next time!
I have two simple cards cards to share. Both use the same stamped image with different sentiments. I thought I’d create something a little different than my usual style.
SUPPLIES Stamps: Sprigs (30-284) Dies: Hello Frame (51-040); Wishes (51-036) Color: Candied Apple, Barn Door, Festive Berries, Picked Raspberries, Worn Lipstick Distress Ink (Ranger) Other: Queens Gold EP (Ranger); Versamark Ink; Wink of Stella Clear; Sequins
Both cards have an image stamped on black cardstock from the clear set Sprigs (30-284) which was heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I stamped the image numerous times in different lengths and angles.
I then colored a small piece of white card stock with various hues of red and pink Distress Ink coloring from dark to light. I sprinkled a little of water to add interest and allowed to dry. I die cut two sentiments from Hello Frame (51-040) and Wishes (51-036). I die cut the sentiments several times from black cardstock and adhered to the colored die cut to add thickness. Sequins were also added as a final touch.
Until next time….
We shall never know all the good that a simple smile can make – Mother Teresa
I thought I’d start with a simple quote reflecting the power of a smile. A smile can simply turn your mood around and, at that moment, all is well.
Today I’m sharing a card simply using dies and bright colors.
SUPPLIES Dies: Half Circle (51-213); Flights of Fancy (51-132); Hooray (51-038) Color: Arcylic Pain (Martha Stewart; Americana) Other: Gesso (Golden’s); Black Cardstock, Spray Adhesive (Elmer’s Glue)
I used arcrylic paints to color the the die cut Half Circle (51-213) as well as black cardstock to capture the sentiment from the die set Hooray (51-038) and the small butterfiles from the die set Flights of Fancy (52-132).
Enjoy and smile!
It’s been a very busy week and will be busier as Christmas approach. As promised, here is a Christmas shaker card I created a few weeks back.
SUPPLIES Stamps: Christmas Friends (30-084); Let It Snow (30-086); Crystal Pattern (40-162) Dies: Circle Die Standard (Spellbinders) Color: Prismacolor Pencils; Navy Midtone (Hero Arts); Black Licorice Hybrid (MFT); Black Onyx Versafine (Tsukineko) Other: Confetti (Martha Stewart); Clear Embossing Powder (Ranger); Perfect Pearls Spray Mix (Ranger); Bristol Paper (Strathmore)
I love shaker cards. They’re just so fun. They’re easy to assemble. The hardest part, I think is to line up your 2 panels together. But other than that, easy peasy. I used Christmas Friends (30-084) as the center piece of the card. The image was colored with Prismacolor Pencils. I inked Crystal Pattern (40-162) for the background. The sentiment is from Let It Snow (30-086). And to add a little interest, I added Perfect Pearls Spray on my circle frame.
Enjoy the week!
Hope you all are off to a great weekend!
Every year I make a card for my daughter at the start of school. It’s her last year of Middle School (yikes!) and I wanted to make her something special and meaningful. I kinda surprise her with it and hide it in her backpack the night before the first day. I “try” not to mention it to her hoping it will be a happy surprise for her.
Anyway, here is my card.
SUPPLIES Stamps: In My Heart (Mama Elephant); Bring on the Sun (Technique Tuesday); KP Come Sail Away (SSS) Dies: In My Heart (Mama Elephant); Landscape Trio (Mama Elephant); Full Card Sunshine (SSS) Color: Black Licorice Hybrid (MFT); Koi Watercolor Pocket Field Sketch Box (Sakura); Salty Ocean, Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Shaded Lilac, Scattered Straw, Wild Honey, Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink (Ranger); Versafine Black Onyx (Tsukineko) Other: Wink of Stella Clear (Zig); Patterned Paper (Martha Stewart)
I just realized I never finished this post! Goes to show how scatterbrained I can be when I’m multi-tasking.
I wanted to use some stamps and dies that have been untouched (and believe me there are many). I love Mama Elephant stamps. The images just make you smile.
