I’m sharing a Christmas card courtesy of Penny Black.
SUPPLIES Stamps: Love at Xmas (30-187); Believe (30-310) Color: Inktense Color Pencils (Derwent); Tumbled Glass Distress Ink (Ranger); Versafine Black Onyx Ink (Tsukineko); Black Hybrid Ink Other: Clear Embossing Powder (Ranger); White Liquid Applique Pen (Marvy Uchida)
I love these Mo Manning images from the old set, Love at Xmas. They are so endearing. I stamped the mailbox girl with black ink and watercolored the image with Derwent Inktense Colored Pencils. I masked off the image and then added Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. I then added drops of White Liquid Applique to mimic snow. I stamped and embossed the sentiment from Believe (30-310). Finally I added my panel to a card base with foam adhesive.
That’s it for this evening!
Continuing on with my Christmas cards, I have another simple and cute card to share featuring Penny Black.
SUPPLIES Stamps: Wintertime Cheer (30-386); Season’s Gifts (30-316); Holiday Snippets (30-307) Dies: Winter Cheer (51-255); Hello Frame (51-040) Color: Inktense Watercolor Pencils (Derwent); Chipped Sapphire; Faded Jeans, Blueprint Sketch Distress Ink (Ranger); Brilliance Moonlight White (Tsukineko); Black Hybrid Ink) Other: Bristol Paper (Strathmore), Clear Sparkle Pen (Spectrum Noir); Glossy Accents (Ranger)
I love all the Christmas critters especially the ones that Margaret Sherry creates for Penny Black. This little dog is no exception.
The image from Wintertime Cheer (30-386) was colored with watercolor pencils and then fussy cut. The blue background that is behind the white card panel was colored with dark blue Distress Inks. I stamped several snowflakes from the sets Holiday Snippets (30-307) and Season’s Gifts (30-316) on the blue background white ink. I cut a frame using the Hello Frame (51-040) on the card panel. I die cut Joy from the Winter Cheer set (51-255) several times to create my sentiment. Clear sparkle was added as well as Glossy Accents to the die cut.
To assemble the card, I adhered my blue background behind the frame. The dog image was adhered to the bottom of the frame on the card panel with dimensional tape. I added my die cut sentiment and finally adhered the panel to my card base.

Enjoy the rest of the week!
It’s time to get the Christmas stamps out and create some holiday cards.
Here’s my first card for the year using one of my favorite Penny Black poinsettia stamps – an oldie but goody…
SUPPLIES Stamps: Christmas Pride (40-075); Yuletide Wishes (30-382) Color: Gansai Tambi Watercolor Set (Kuretake); Inktense Color Pencils (Derwent); Black Onyx Versafine (Tsukineko); Black Hybrid Ink; Antique Linen, Tea Dye Distress Ink (Ranger) Other: Clear Embossing Powder (Ranger); Clear Gems; Bristol Paper (Strathmore)
I stamped Christmas Pride (40-075) on a Bristol paper panel. I first colored the inside of the petals with the Inktense Pencils. I then used the Gansai Tambi watercolor set to finish coloring the image. Using a ink blending tool, I added Antique Linen and Tea Dye Distress Ink around the perimeter of the card panel. The sentiment from Yuletide Wishes (30-382) was heat embossed using clear EP. The panel was mounted on my card base and I added clear gems to finish off the card. Pretty simple.
Have you checked out the Penny Black Simplicity Sister blog anytime this month? Here is a sneak peek of my card posted a few weeks back…

Until next time!
Long time no hear. It’s been a very busy month with lots of travel. I can’t complain. We’ve been enjoying ourselves immensely.
Here’s a card I made a few weeks back using watercolor markers on a cling stamp.
SUPPLIES Stamps: Gentle Whisper (PB 40-331) Dies: You Enjoy! (PB 51-339) Color: Distress Ink Markers (Ranger) Other: Clear Sequins; MISTI Stamp Positioner
I just used my MISTI to help me color this stamp. I first colored this beautiful orchid Gentle Whisper (40-331) and then the stem and leaves. Once I was happy with coloring, I set my card panel aside to let it dry. I die cut the Enjoy from the You Enjoy (51-339) die set multiple dies and adhered them all together. Once the panel was dry, I added my die cut and then added sequins to finish the card.

June is coming to an end REALLY fast! Hope your summer is off to a good start!
School’s is finally out and we all can breathe a sigh a relief. I don’t think I’ve ever looked forward to summer as much as this year. I guess it’s because my kids are now both taking finals and that added stress at the end of the year can feel never ending.
Today I’m sharing a card using the very cute Penny Black Especially Micey (30-410) clear set.
This cute little image was colored with watercolor markers and the fussy cut. I adhered this little guy with foam tape to a card base covered with patterned paper from the Painted Blooms collection (80-009). The sentiment is from Happy Snippets (30-358). I added black paper sequins to finish the card off.
I also have a card on the Simplicity blog that was showcased a few weeks ago. Here is a sneak peak.

As the school year comes to a close, my creative time comes pretty much to a dead halt. I eked this shaker card out for my husband who celebrated his birthday right after Easter.
SUPPLIES Stamps: Kool Kats (30-351); Snippets (30-283) Dies: Stitched Circle Frame (MFT); Nestabilities Std. Circle Dies (Spellbinders); Color: Clean Color Watercolor Brush Markers (Kuretake); Indigo, Deep Ocean, Aquatic Hybrid Ink (HA) Other: Wave Embossing Folder (WRMK); White Embossing Folder (Ha); Sequins; Glitter; Acetate
I wanted to make something fun and whimsical. For this card, I used an image from the Kool Kats (30-351) clear set. The image was watercolored and then fussy cut. I die cut a circle frame and adhered my surfing Kat behind the frame to make it appear the Kat was surfing out of the circle.
Next, I embossed my card panel with a aquatic themed embossing folder. I die cut a circle in the middle of the panel and adhered a piece of acetate to the back and proceeded to make the shaker part of the card. Blue sequins and glitter were added for the card. I adhered my circle frame/surfing Kat to the front of the panel and attached it to my card base.
Finally I stamped and white embossed a simple sentiment from Snippets (30-283) on black cardstock banner.
Enjoy the week!

I love this little Mimi mermaid image. Check out the card and complete directions on how I made it here.
Hope you all have a blessed Easter!
I’m sharing a CAS card today. I love the Penny Black flower die Bashful (51-008) and wanted to use it as a focal point.
SUPPLIES Stamps: Special Wishes (PB 30-229) Dies: Bashful (PB 51-008), Stitched Rectangles (SSS) Color: Distress Ink (Ranger); Black Onyx Versafine (Tsukineko) Other: Clear EP (Ranger)
For this card, I die cut a rectangle from Bristol paper. I die cut Bashful from the rectangle and set aside the negative cut aside. I colored the flower with Distress Inks using a ink applicator. I adhered the negative cut on another rectangle of the same measurement. I adhered and placed the flower back into the negative space . The rectangle was then mounted on my card base. The sentiment from Special Wishes (30-229) was stamped and then heat embossed.
I’ve entered this card in this Wednesday’s SSS challenge: Use More Than One Punch or Die.
Until next time!
I just got back from Spring Break. We were in Southern California enjoying the beach, doing a little hiking, taking a Segway tour (first time and A LOT of fun), and watching a few lacrosse games.
I was on the Penny Black Simplicity blog this past Tuesday and wanted to share a sneak peek…
I’ve been meaning to use this PB set and finally got around to making this ombre inspired medallion card.

Until next time!
I’ve been admiring stamps from The Ton and I wanted to play around with a few that I borrowed from my dear friend Vera. Here’s what I made…
Love these roses from the Fresh Cut Garden Roses set! I simply smooched water downed Distress Ink to these images. I purposely left them unfinished to keep it interesting.
For the rest of the card, I added texture to the panel using one of my favorite Papertrey Ink impression plates, Linen & Canvas. In addition, I splattered white and black watercolor ink on the panel. I cut a circle in the panel and added a sentiment courtesy of Penny Black to the card base.
Hope you all are enjoying the day.
