Happy October!
A quick post (hopefully). I have 2 cards to share. I used this beautiful (and very neglected) Stampin’ Up stamp set for both cards.
My very dear friend asked if I could make a birthday card for her neighbor. This is what I came up with…
I wanted to keep the card simple and clean. The rose and leaves were colored with Prismacolor pencils. On the rose, I painted watercolor pearlescent paint on the darker parts of the flower. To finish it off, I sprayed the whole rose with Perfect Pearls Mist for additional shimmer.
Here is my 2nd card…
I originally wanted to use this background for the first card. However, I didn’t like my intended layout. Instead, I decided to make another card with it. I love patterned paper but never find a way to incorporate it in a card. So, I thought this was an ideal opportunity to try!
The background is a Basic Grey paper. I stamped the rose image multiple times on the paper for a tone-on-tone effect. Distress Ink was rubbed on the edges to give a defined look. To add a little more dimension to the card, I added paper roses (another neglected item in my craft stash) and a few gems.
Thanks so much!
