Awesome Nerd

Hi!

I just wanted to share another card I made for my daughter’s birthday.  This is my favorite of the 2 as I think it speaks to her nature and humor.

I love this little pig and her entourage of chicks from Stamping Bella, Nice to SEE you Petunia.  My daughter wears glasses and is SUCH a nerd.  Why is she awesome?  Well, because she is!  There was a event that she attended and they were required to wear name tags that said “Hello!  My Name is” ….  So she wrote Awesome!  She loved it.

Quickly, I colored this image with Copics.  I added Glossy Accents to the piggy’s glasses.  The die is from Lil Inkers.  The “You Are” is from the Honey Bee Stamps set, Thanks and Giving and I used the letters to create “NERD” from the Concord & 9th set, Perfectly Penned.

Addendum:  I am including this in the latest SSS Wednesday challenge:  Anything Goes.

Until next time!

Wedding Card

Hi there!

It’s beginning to feel like fall here in this part of the country.

Today I’m sharing a wedding a card I made for my brother and sister-in-law.  It was a summer wedding held at the beach and it was a day filled with a lot of love, joy and laughter.

SUPPLIES Stamps: Brett and Brenda (Stamping Bella); Happy Trails (Papertrey Ink) Color: Black Licorice Hybrid Ink (MFT); Inktense Watercolor Pencils (Derwent); Old Paper Distress ink (Ranger) Other: Bristol Paper (Strathmore); Paper Distresser (StampinUp); Clear Sequins

I really LOVE this image from Stamping Bella and thought it to be perfect for the wedding card.

I simply stamped the image with black ink and lightly watercolored the image using Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils.  I distressed the edges and added Old Paper Distress Ink to highlight the lovely couple.  To finish the card I added with clear sequins around the panel.  I decided not to add  a sentiment on the front as I just wanted the image to speak for itself.   The sentiment that I included from the card is from Papertrey Ink’s Happy Trails – “To love and be loved is everything” – a fitting statement.

Until next time.
